It's been a long while since I've updated this blog. My computer died last year and I'm doing everything now on my phone. I have access to a computer today.

Lets start in September: September 2010: Kasim was with Todd Rundgren on the Todd/Healing tour. I saw the show in Glenside, PA. I was on the PPV a couple of times! Near the end of the show, Kasim threw a pick at me! :)

October 2010: Kasim was with Todd Rundgren in Japan. Kasim did a solo show when he was there. Thanks to my Japanese friends on my Kasim Twitter, I found out a lot about his solo show and the Todd shows!

November 2010: I got a big surprise from Kasim on my birthday. He wished me a Happy Birthday on Facebook! :)

December 2010: Kasim did a solo show in Bordentown, NJ on December 4. I went to the show with my friends and I had a wonderful time! I had a front row seat! In the review of the show on another site, the reviewer called me "fat arms" twice! TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR SNARKY REMARK! I was NOT blocking the reviewers view of him. If I were blocking the reviewers view, the reviewer should have come over during intermission and told me that I was.

January 2011: Kasim joined Moogy Klingman and Utopia for two reunion shows to help Moogy. Kasim sang background and got to play a little bit of Just One Victory on bass. I also found out about Kasim working with a Beatles tribute band Yellow Matter Custard.

February 2011: Kasim played with Yellow Matter Custard. He was "Paul" of course. There are a lot of great clips of the shows on YouTube.

March 2011: Kasim joined Todd once again for more Todd/Healing shows. I couldn't go to any of them. :(

It's a 2 page colour article with a great photo of Kasim andit's on pages 6 and 7 so nice and close to the front. The issue alsohas a review of the Todd Rundgren AWATS show in London.

Musician Todd Rundgren will perform two complete albums, Healing and Todd, in the same live concert, starting in early September 2010. The first show is scheduled for September 5 in Akron, Ohio. The tour includes concerts in Muskegon, Michigan (September 8); St. Louis, Missouri (September 10); Indianapolis, Indiana (September 11); Glenside, Pennsylvania (September 14); and Morristown, New Jersey (September 15).

The band for the tour was announced last night on RundgrenRadio.com's weekly online radio talk show. The Healing and Todd live lineup will feature some of the members from Todd's former bands Utopia and The New Cars. The all-star band lineup for the concerts includes: Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton, Prairie Prince, Jesse Gress, Greg Hawkes, Bobby Strickland, and a Choir Master to be named later.

Rundgren Radio also announced the addition of a July Todd Rundgren's Johnson concert: Bearsville Theatre on July 13th in Bearsville, NY near Woodstock, NY.

My thoughts on Kasim leaving Meat Loaf's band

On Facebook, I started For The Love Of Kasim a couple of months ago. I have on my page a discussion board. I started the topic about Kasim leaving Meat Loaf's band. Here is what I posted:

Kasim has been a major part of the band for the last 10 years or so taking over as musical director. That was a big job for him to do having to work with all of Meat's music and be the bass player. I enjoyed seeing Kasim with Meat Loaf two times-1996 and 2005.

Kasim has said "it was time to leave". I agree with him on this decision. When I read he had said that at his show in Philly, I was shocked! Now he can focus more on his career and still work with Todd.

What are your thoughts about him leaving the band?

Mini review of Birchmere show

I posted this on the TR Connection forum board the day after the show:

What an awesome show last night! Loved every minute of it. I didn't know most of the Johnson songs. I knew some clips were up on YouTube but I didn't want to see them. I wanted the songs to be a surprise.

I had a fantastic seat right up front and on Kasim's side! (Thanks to my new friend S.B.! )Highlights of the night for me: Bleeding, Mystified, Born To Synthesize, I Saw The Light, Boogies, and a couple of the Johnson songs I didn't know.

The biggest highlight of the night happened right when the show ended. When the band was going off stage, Kasim was going around shaking people's hands and saying hi to them. Before he goes off the stage, he comes over to me and says, "Hi Steph, how are you?" and gives me a big hug! I was like, "OMG! Is this really happening?" I then asked him could I have one of his guitar picks. He reached over to his mike stand and gave me the three that he had on it! He kept throwing picks all night to people and he never threw one at me. I had always wanted one of his picks and now I had three! My new friends saw what had happened and they were so happy for me! I gave my new friend S.B. one of Kasim's picks for being so nice to me and for letting me have the seat right at Kasim's microphone.

It was great to meet some new friends there! That's one of the great things about a Todd show. We all waited outside for the guys after the show. Todd came out first and talked to us, signed autographs, and took pics. I guess he stayed out there for about 30 minutes. He was so gracious to us as always. He got on the bus after that. Jesse came out next and posed for pics and signed stuff. I had only met Jesse once in 1998. It was nice to meet him again. Later, he got on the bus. Kasim came out a little while later and signed things and posed for pics. Only me, my friends, and a couple of other fans were left. He once again said hi to me. He asked me if I was going to be at the show in MD Wed. night and I told him I couldn't go. I never saw Prairie come out of the building because after I saw Kasim, I left to go back home.

My dreams finally came true! :) Everything that I thought wouldn't happen happened! :)

Let me start with Kasim and Todd in Bethesda, MD. I'm so glad that I got to see one of the AWATS shows. I was so hoping the tour would come close to where I could go. When the date was announced, I made plans to go! Lucky for me, I had the day off from work that day! :) I had no idea what to expect that day. I wanted everything to be a surprise. I had heard the opening act was Utopia. I had never seen them before! I was so looking forward to see them! :)

Before the show, I met up with some friends. People that I had emailed and never met before. When I walked into the venue, I hung around the little restaurant area to see if I could find some of my friends. The first person I see is Roger Powell sitting and eating with some of his friends. I wanted to say hi to him but I didn't want to bother him while he was eating. I saw Prairie eating outside with his friends. I had on a Utopia Redux 92 shirt with their faces on it. I think he saw me because he spotted his shirt! :) Later, I saw Greg come in with a friend of his. I tried to find Kasim but I couldn't find him. :( I saw Michele come out and get a friend of hers. She was in a hurry so I didn't stop her to say hi.

I had a seat in the 9th row! I had a fantastic view! :) When Utopia came on, the crowd went crazy! It was so cool to see them in the outfits they wore for the Oops Wrong Planet tour. It was great to see Roger as I had never seen him before. I wish I could have said hi to him before the show. I finally heard Trapped live! :) Loved it! :) My fancy bass player was so hot OMG! :)

AWATS was fantastic! :) Sometimes I think back on that night and say to myself, "Did that happen? Was I there?" It felt like a dream. I still have dreams about that night and a certain fancy bass player in his white suit! ;) :) "Does Anybody Love You, do you think....." :) Todd's outfits were interesting. I wasn't too sure about the fat suit.

The rest of September was spent reliving AWATS and waiting for Kasim's show in MD.

On October 9, the rest of my dreams came true. The day I never thought would happen happened. After seven years of waiting to see him solo (now with a band!), the time arrived.

Before the show, I could hear some of sound check. I heard the last part of "The Up". :) I had hoped he would do that song.

The doors opened at 8PM and we all went upstairs to the venue. Micho's is a really nice place to see a show. Very intimate! :) My table was great! :) I chatted with some fans before the show.

There was no opening act which was good for me because I didn't really want to see one. I just wanted to see Kasim.

The show started at 9PM. Everyone clapped and cheered when Kasim and the band came on stage. He looked so happy. I always love to see him happy. :) He has wanted to do shows with a band for so very long now and now was/is his chance to do so. There were a lot of surprises that night with the songs he chose. The biggest surprises for me were: Mimi Gets Mad, Cliche solo, and Do You Love Me.

After the show, Kasim mingled with the crowd. He sure knows how to work a room! :) I think he went to everyone and said hi to them. I met his drummer Tad. He was really nice. He remembered seeing me on his MySpace and Facebook. I didn't get the chance to say hi to Mark or Mike.

When I saw Kasim later, I gave him hugs from fans and he thanked me for coming. :) I thanked him for everything. :)

That night was so very special to me. I know it was for him too. I think the picture of him above says it all. :)

A couple of nights ago, I got an email from a friend on Facebook saying that Kasim will be doing a show in Reistertown, Maryland on October 30, 2009. I checked into it and yes it is official!! :) I went to www.michorestaurant.com to see if tickets were on sale and they were! Kasim will be with a full band. I will now finally be able to see one of Kasim's shows! :) My dream is coming true! :)

Kasim added a new song to his MySpace a couple of months ago called "Summer's Gone". It's a beautiful song. In the song, he uses a line from Todd's song "Cliche"-"time to make the knot unwind". I really liked that! :) I also noticed that he used a variation of the word "waste"again!-"wasting"

The Birchmere show

I had such a wonderful time seeing Todd and Kasim at The Birchmere. The show was fantastic! :) I took a couple of videos and two of them are on my YouTube page. www.youtube.com/stephanieregan I'll be adding some more videos from the show soon! :)

It was the best Todd show I've ever seen. I hope he will tour again this Spring or Summer.

I met some new friends and saw some friends who I haven't seen in a long time. Thanks to my new friend Bob, I had the best seat in the house! :)

This picture of Kasim was taken after the show. As you can see, he had the goatee. I knew he probably would have it because the night before the show, he was on Rundgren Radio and he said he hadn't shaved in a while. So I wasn't too surprised because I knew he would still have it.

When I saw him, I pointed to his goatee and I said to him jokingly, "what's this?" He didn't look at me when I was saying that. He was looking at Bob.

A couple of days after this picture was taken, he shaved the goatee off.

A cool fan of Kasim's reminded me that I forgot to do a post regarding Kasim and the use of the word "love" in his songs. As you may remember from a post I did last year, I talked about Kasim using the word "waste" in his songs or variations of the word and the reason why I think he does that. Now I will talk about Kasim using the word "love" in his songs.

I found ten songs with the word "love" in the song title. The songs are:

I can't believe it's been two years ago!

This picture was taken before The New Cars show at Wolf Trap on June 6, 2006. I'm wearing a Utopia Redux 92 t-shirt that I got from a dear friend of mine. We all were so excited that day to see Todd and Kasim on stage with the reformed Cars. The show did almost sell out. All of the section I was in (the front orchestra section-the up close seats) was completely full. Not an empty seat. The show was great! The two most memorable moments that night were:

1. Hearing Kasim sing Drive. It was also the first time I've seen him sing by himself. I've never been to one of his solo shows yet. I loved it!! When the song was over, I stood up and clapped and clapped and clapped. He saw me and bowed toward my side of the audience. So he knew where I was sitting! :)

2. TNC doing Black Maria!! I freaked out when they started doing it. It was soooo good!! I've always wanted to hear this song done live.

I was so lucky to have seen this show. Now there are no more New Cars.

Thanks to my Todd trading friend, I now have this show on CD. Everytime I hear it, it brings back memories about that night.

A good time was had by all! :)

On This Day In Kasim History....February 19,1998 was the first time I saw Todd and the second time I saw Kasim. It was on Todd's With A Twist tour at The Coppermine in Petersburg, VA.

Here is some of my review:

I first met Kasim on February 19,1998 at Todd Rundgren's With A Twist concert in Petersburg, Virginia at the Coppermine. I saw him before and after the show.
I met him an hour before the show by accident. I was watching television in the bar area of the club. The television was on the wall and a pinball machine was below it. I saw that someone was playing pinball but I couldn't see who it was. So I kept on watching television. Then I looked down for a minute and when I looked up, guess who was looking at me from the pinball machine??? You guessed right if you said Kasim!! I couldn't believe it!! He must have thought that I was looking at him and not at the television.
He was dressed in black clothes and he had his hair down in his face. I think he was trying to blend in and not be noticed. While he was playing pinball, he had a soft drink in a styrofoam cup in his left hand and a cigarette in his right hand. I didn't know whether I should go over and say hi or not. I didn't want to bother him. But I thought what if I don't get to see him after the show? So I went over to him and I said hi and he said hi. I didn't know what to say to him because I was so nervous. Then he told me to not be nervous because there was nothing to be nervous about. (I'll always remember that!! :) ) I asked him if the band would be around after the show to sign autographs and take pictures and he said he thought they would. So I told him I would see him later and have a great show. He said okay.
The show was wonderful!! After the show, I waited for about an hour to be able to see him again. The band ate a late dinner at the restaurant next door. I waited by the bus door for him to come out of the restaurant. I met Jesse (Todd's guitar player) first. He was really nice. Then while Jesse was signing my With A Twist CD booklet, here comes Kasim!
He gave me his autograph and I took a picture with him. Unfortunately, I don't have the picture because a fan of Kasim's took the pic and she never sent it to me.
Kasim got on the bus and I got back in line to see Todd. Todd was sitting in the bus driver's seat signing stuff. He signed a Utopia calendar. I asked him if I could take a picture with him and he said "ok let me finish up here and I will get off the bus and take a picture with you."
Todd got off the bus and took a picture with me and my mom. He was so nice!

It was a night I will never forget. I still can't believe it was 10 years ago!

Kasim's back on tour with Todd Rundgren now. A mini tour. Same set list as in December's shows. Kasim still has the goatee. I don't really like him with it. When I see the pictures of him with it, I say that's his evil brother Tony! :) My poll on For The Love Of Kasim says no to the goatee. I wonder if Kasim has heard about my poll and voted? He probably voted yes. IMHO, I think he gets lazy sometimes and doesn't want to shave.

After Todd's shows, Kasim will be doing his tour with the Kasim Sulton Band. I wonder who's going to be in the band? I'm thinking Doug Kennedy, Mark Alexander, Randy Flowers, and maybe that guy who was with him in 2006-Dennis was his name I think. With a band behind him, he can do songs that he couldn't do if he were by himself. I've always wanted Kasim to do White And Red.

We should all find out soon when the other solo dates will be. Crossing my fingers for a Virginia show!

He's going to be at The Birchmere with Todd. I was looking at the site a couple of weeks ago and it looks like a really nice place to play. They have very strict rules there: no audio, no video, and no cameras. I don't like that rule.

On this day two years ago, I had the best time of my life! My Uncle Charles and I went to see Meat Loaf at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. Here is my review of the show from www.KasimInfo.com:

My big day arrived! I was going to see Meat Loaf!!

I've never been to Wolf Trap before. I had heard that it is a beautiful place to have a concert. It was beautiful. It was in a park setting and there were a lot of trees and grassy areas.

The gates opened at 6:30 PM and the seated part didn't open until 7:30 PM. I found my seat and it was great! I was in Row B Seat 35. I figured that I would be in between Meat and Paul and I was right.

The show started at 8PM. Johnny Lives opened the show. They were ok but I wish Kasim could have opened the show. Before the show, I saw Kasim behind the stage talking to his guitar tech Charlie. I knew it was him by the back of his head. I saw him putting on his bass before the show.

Meat came on @8:30PM. The show was wonderful! Meat was in top form. He and the band were excellent. I tried to get Kasim's attention at the start of the show but he didn't see me. He was wearing a white shirt with black stripes and black trousers.

During You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth, everyone in the audience stands up and sings in the middle of the song. Four people behind me were sitting down and not singing. Meat saw them and he told them to stand up and they didn't. You won't believe what happened next. Meat said, "I'm coming down there". He jumped off the stage, made his way through the pit and the first two rows like a bull in a china shop and was coming for the people behind me! A couple was sitting beside me and they didn't know what to think. I didn't have anyone sitting beside me on my left side. Meat Loaf is giving this guy his wrath and he is doing it a few inches away from me! The guy refused to sing! Meat was cussing him out big time. The band had stopped playing and the lights on the stage were down. I looked over on the stage and I saw Kasim standing beside Mark in the dark and you could see the biggest smile on Kasim's face! Meat asked the guy what he does for a living and he told Meat "I don't have to tell you what I do." Then Meat said, "So you're a lawyer then. Or some CIA guy from DC?" The guy never told him where he worked. So then Meat told Kasim to restart the song. I touched Meat Loaf's shirt! A couple of people and myself helped Meat so as he wouldn't fall over the chairs trying to get back on stage! The couple beside me left after that and didn't come back!

Meat introduced the band and when he was introducing Kasim, he kissed Meat on the cheek! It was cute.

I loved the new way they're doing Anything For Love. After Patti sings the "sooner or later you'll be screwing around part", Meat came over to Patti and gave her the biggest kiss on the lips. I don't think she was expecting that!

Kasim came on my side somewhat but not much. During Bat Out Of Hell, he came over to my side and was playing bass with Paul. I waved at Kasim. He saw me and waved back!! :)

During Mercury Blues, Kasim's shirt was unbuttoned and I was a happy girl! :)

The show was over with @10:45PM or so.

After the show, my Uncle Charles and I got to go backstage to see Kasim. My Uncle didn't know much about Kasim or Meat Loaf. The next day, he became a Meat Loaf fan and a Kasim fan! :) My avatar picture was taken backstage that night. Here is another picture from the night:

When my Uncle saw this picture, he said,"Should I have put my arm around Kasim like that?" "Does that look funny?" I told him, "No, it doesn't look funny." I printed out this picture for him and he had it in his dining room. He looked at it every day. He told me he took a picture with a rock star! :)

My Uncle passed away in November 2005. He was a great person and loved people. I still think about that night and I can't believe it happened! If Meat Loaf comes to VA or DC again, I'll probably go to the show but no show can top Meat Loaf's Wolf Trap show!

I saw Kasim for the first time at Meat Loaf's show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland!! Here is part of my Meat Loaf review about Kasim:

Here's my story about how I first saw Kasim:
I first saw Kasim at Meat Loaf's concert on July 24,1996 at the
Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. It was the first
time that I ever saw Kasim and it was the first time I ever saw Meat
Loaf. It was a really great show!! I remember in the first part of
the show during a song (I forget which one), Kasim went over to Pat
and Kasim stuck his tongue out at him and then he smiled at him.
During the middle part of the show, Kasim was playing guitar behind
the keyboards and one of the strings broke. He had to get the guitar
tech to come out and get the guitar so he could fix it. At the end of
the show, Kasim saw a young boy in the audience and he gave him his
guitar pick and then Kasim smiled at him. I didn't have a very
good
seat. I sat in the loge section. I was on Patti and Pat's side
of
the stage. I had to use a pair of binoculars to see the show!!

I had a great time at the show. It was the second best Meat Loaf show I've ever seen. The first and best Meat Loaf show was August 22, 2005 at Wolf Trap!! :)

Happy Birthday to a wizard, a true star: Todd Rundgren. (and Happy Anniversary too.) Kasim has played with Todd on his birthdays over the years. The New Cars tour starts back up today in Washington. Kasim will be joining them for a couple of shows in July before the USA leg of Meat Loaf's tour. I wish The New Cars would come to Virginia this year. I really enjoyed their show last year at Wolf Trap.

In 2001, Kasim had his first chat with his fans at KasimInfo.com. Over the years, he's held chats off and on. I believe the last chat was in 2004. I've been lucky enough to be at every chat he's held.
We'd chat about stuff like Meat Loaf, Todd, Utopia, Joan Jett, music he likes to listen to, etc.

Kasim and "wasting time".

Over the years, I've been studying the lyrics to Kasim's songs. The one thing I've noticed is he uses the word "waste" or variations of the word. Here are some examples:

1. "In The Name Of Love"- grab a hold of someone else and don't waste your time
2. "My Year"- I can't believe I wasted all that time
3. "This Must Be Love"-I guess I wasted my time
4. "Set Me Free"-feels like the time we spent was gone to waste
5. "Sacrifice"-waste one minute wondering might have been...
6. "Minutes Slipping Past"-so I wonder what I did with all my time, how much was wasted...
7. "Heaven's Girl"-It's just a waste of time to try and find her in this world.
8. "Give Him Up"-Shouldn't waste another night.

Two Utopia songs that have waste in them:

1. "Welcome To My Revolution"-don't wanna feel like I've wasted my time
2. "Bad Little Actress"-she's wasting our time

I've always wondered why Kasim uses this word in his songs. I asked him this question once in an email but he didn't email me back.

In Minutes Slipping Past from his new CD All Sides, he writes about the end of life. Could it be about his life or someone elses? He says he wrote the song but he didn't know why. Then, one of his best friends passed away this summer. He now knows why he wrote the song. The line where he sings about "everything I desired if I wanted to" I think means things Kasim would have liked to do but can't do or couldn't do for some reason. Maybe about things having to do with his family.

I think my next word search in Kasim's songs will be the word "love". I can think of a few song titles with that word in it already!

I love this CD!! It has all of my favorite Kasim songs on it plus new songs and demos. Minutes Slipping Past is so touching it makes me cry whenever I hear it. I thought Kasim wrote Yellow Cab but I was wrong. Are You Happy Now is very upbeat. I love the doubletracking in the song.

Interesting stuff I noticed about the CD:

1. It's not on any record label.
2. In the thank you notes, he didn't thank Meat Loaf.
3. He thanked the movie star Julianne Moore.
4. Before In The Name Of Love, someone says "6".

If you don't have this CD, buy it now!

The New Cars review from Wolf Trap June 6, 2006

This is my review of The New Cars show at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA from June 6, 2006:

It was a packed house Tuesday night at Wolf Trap as The New Cars and Blondie’s Road Rage tour came to Vienna, VA. I had a great seat! (Row K Seat 19) I was in between Elliot and Todd.
I went to the show with a couple of huge Todd fans from Charlottesville, VA. They were Bill Bricker, Stephen Pollack and his son Nick, and Eric Lund. Stephen used to be Bebe Buell’s guitar player in her band The Gargoyles.
We got to the show @7:00PM. I bought a copy of The New Cars CD at the souvenir booth. The release day was on June 6! I was listening to it coming up Route 29. Bill was playing it for all of us to hear in his Caravan.
Before the show, I talked to a guy who has a guitar just like Todd’s new red and white one he uses on stage at The New Cars shows. He wanted to get the guitar signed by Todd. He talked to a girl from The New Cars meet and greet and she got the guitar signed by all of the band! He took me around to the backstage area before the show and pointed out where Kasim was smoking a cigarette near the backstage door. I didn’t bother him before the show. It looked like he was wearing a New Cars t-shirt (the one with the TNC logo).
Blondie came on at 8PM and played for about an hour and ten minutes. They were good. I knew a lot of their songs. I was sitting between two blonde girls who were Blondie fans. They were really into it! I thought I saw Kasim watching the first part of their show. Debbie Harry was waving to the crowd and was happy. Blondie had a good turnout. She gave her high heels away to fans in the pit. After Blondie’s set, a lot of people were leaving.
I saw Kasim’s guitar tech Charlie from the Meat Loaf shows getting Kasim’s bass ready before The New Cars came on. Kasim can’t go anywhere without his Charlie! :)
I spoke to a guy behind me who is a big fan of Prairie’s before The New Cars came on. I thought I heard at first that he knew him so I asked him do you know him and he said no “only in my dreams!” I thought that was cute.
I saw a lot of Blondie shirts, one Cars shirt, New Cars shirts, a few Todd shirts, and one Van Halen shirt!
The New Cars came on at 9:30PM. The set was really cool! At the beginning of the show, they had pictures on all of the screens of them in various funny faces! It reminded me of the pictures from The Beatles A Hard Day’s Night movie. The show was excellent! I was singing along to all of the songs. I LOVED hearing Kasim sing “Drive”. I stood up after the song and clapped and clapped and clapped. The only songs they cut out due to time restraints were All Mixed Up (one of the Cars songs that Kasim’s sings which I would have loved to have heard) and Open My Eyes. I wish TR would have had time to do that song! The songs I really enjoyed hearing live were: “Let’s Go”,”Candy-O”, “I Saw The Light”, “Black Maria” “Drive”, and “Dangerous Type”. When Elliot was singing “Dangerous Type”, he pointed in my direction.
Near the beginning of the show, Kasim was having trouble with his bass speakers so in between songs, he kept going over to the speakers to tweak stuff on them. You know him, always the perfectionist! :) At another point in the show, Kasim slid over to Elliot’s side of the stage and sang with him. He did that twice. Near the end of the show, Kasim was singing on his side of the stage and all of a sudden, Elliot comes over to him and scares him! Kasim looked at Elliot and made a surprised face!.
After “You Might Think”, Todd was talking and I noticed Kasim had left the stage. I think that’s his smoke break time.
I don’t think Todd mentioned the CD release date was on June 6! He did mention about the bus accident Monday. Elliot broke his left collarbone. He seemed to be doing ok. He was waving and smiling to everyone.
There was a tie for the best dressed of the evening. I loved Todd’s burgundy jacket and Kasim’s black jacket with some sort of design on it. They should be in GQ magazine!
I loved seeing Todd’s new red and white guitar. I wanted to see Todd’s new guitar with the Utopia eye design on it. He did play it, but I wasn’t paying attention to Todd then. ;)
Near the end of the show, I noticed Kasim was giving away guitar picks to some lucky fans in the pit.
After the encore, Kasim was waving to people in the audience. He waved over in my direction before he left the stage. Todd didn’t really wave that much. Elliot was waving and was very happy. Greg and Prairie were waving too.
The show ended at 11:00PM. I spoke to Prairie’s cousin after the show by accident. I saw two women who had backstage passes on and I asked them if they went to the meet and greet and they said no. One of the women said “I’m Prairie’s cousin.” I told her I was sorry to hear about Vince and she said thank you.
I saw a lot of people going backstage after the show. I had some small gifts I wanted to give all of the guys but I never had the chance to give them their gifts. I almost got backstage but then a guy from Wolf Trap said everyone had to go. I was really disappointed that I was so close to getting back there yet so far away.
All in all, I had a nice time. I hope the tour will have a second leg so I can see it again.

It looks like Kasim may be touring with The New Cars again this Summer! I hope they will come to Virginia again!
